Overview: The primary purpose of the Occupational Therapist is for the efficient and satisfactory performance of Occupational Therapy support services for eligible students as a result of the MTSS, Evaluations and IEP processes or who are otherwise assigned to you at the discretion of the district. The job of the Occupational Therapist is established for the purpose of effective therapy for students; providing supportive interventions to students, staff and/or parents; and complying with Federal, State, County, and District policies, regulations and procedures.
Certification/Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited OT educational program.
- Valid Pennsylvania Occupational Therapist License
- Passion for working with children and a clear dedication to helping them maximize their potential
- Excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills
- Exceptional desire to be a collaborative team member, learn and grow
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide direct therapy to students from K to grade 12.
- Assess/Evaluation students for Occupational Therapy services
- Consult with teachers, other therapists, support staff, and families to facilitate classroom participation and maximize the student’s potential.
- Fulfill documentation requirements, including data collection, progress updates for marking periods, and yearly IEP revisions with updated goals and treatment strategies.
- Attend IEP meetings as recommended.
- Travel may be required throughout the school day.
